What others have to say and Resources

Thanks for sharing

SOME of the words students use to describe the Yoga experience with Sandy:  (I am humbled to share the following)

Peace, joy, sunshine, comfort, caring/understaning/relaxtion,

being peaceful, relaxing and your tone and voice lends to that. Peace, kindness, and community :),caring, compassionate, in tune with peoples' bodies, warm, funny, inspiring, healing, impowering, joy though laughter,

Reliable, Caring, JOY, GRATITUDE, PEACE, Kind-hearted, supportive, thoughtful, Mindful , patient and soothing,  Peace, joy, gratitude, inspiring, supportive, and gracious.

OK, so first things first...Thank you for another amazing
and perfectly customized class. I look
forward to each and every class with a curious and expectant anticipation of
where you will lead us each on our unique journey on the mat. Tonight did not disappoint! I left The Retreat barely remembering I had
traveled over 250 miles to get there.

Your class is always so perfectly paced and balanced in what you address. The room is always staged for a very relaxing class. It is clear that you are perfectly comfortable and working from your heart and intuition.  Your experience has brought you to a place where you can perform without thinking, thus you can just feel and know what to do next without engaging your brain.  This is what others who observe your classes need to pick up on.

I can't think of anything that I would say should be changed.

Thank you for serving so graciously, Julie

Scoliosis Student:

We have tried every option
available the last few years to help correct her scoliosis with no success. We
could not even slow the growth of her curve. Last year the surgeon said we must
have surgery before she has serious complications from it. They gave us one
more year to monitor the increasing curve. With all of my research everything
pointed to YOGA as our last option. Yes prayer was a regular part of our
medicine already. Chiropractors were afraid to work on her! One very well
respected one turned us away! I remember the day I called you.

You welcomed us with open arms.
No promises just that you would do all you could to help. You took the
initiative to learn more on our topic of scoliosis to help my child. This week
we went for our follow up visit. Expecting to make a life changing decision for
my child and our family. Major back surgery. I was prepared to ask my child to
leave the room while my wife and I absorbed what was to come.

The doctor entered the room and
immediately said  “I only have good news”. I then changed my mind and
asked my daughter “Sierra” to stay. He said “sir the curve has stopped and
corrected a few degrees. The twist in the spine is gone! And her spine is now
balanced. I no longer recommend surgery. But what I do recommend is that
you continue your YOGA as a part of your life young lady. I also now practice
YOGA. I hope your family has a wonderful day!”

Yes I have had tears every day.
Thank you are two words that carry a different level of meaning in our society.
We will thank you and your class for eternity for what all of you have done to
support our child.

Thank you all!

Yoga creates a peaceful space for me in the middle of the most hectic day where I can breathe and be. Through what I’ve learned in Yoga and from Sandy’s sessions, I have a new ability to carve out a time of solitude, reawakening and renewal anywhere and any time.

Gail Martin --Dream Spinners Communications

Not ever having practiced yoga before, I really wasn't sure what to expect but I leave each class with a sense of peace and relaxation that I did not think was possible in my busy life. Sandy is a natural teacher and a constant inspiration. Her compassion and sense of humor create a relaxed and enjoyable environment in which to learn.

Thank you! - Ken Bloch  Keller Williams Cornelius

Sandy’s yoga class has allowed us to clear our minds and focus on ourselves and our well being. Taking an hour during the day to focus on oneself has become a part of everyday living thanks to Sandy. She has been an inspiration to mind, body and soul.

Over 55 Communities:

I am 65 years old and began taking Yoga lessons from Sandy
about a year and half ago after moving to Bailey’s Glen. I am a faithful
participant and must admit that I appreciate Yoga more and more as time goes
by. In the last couple of months, I began noticing lower back pain and pain in
my right hip when I awoke in the morning. About 3 weeks ago, I decided to
practice at home some of the Yoga positions which I had learned over the
months. Now when I wake up each morning that is the first thing I do. The sun
salutation is a great way to start the day, not only physically, but
spiritually as well. I find the stretching definitely helps me function better
throughout the day. I am striving to make this a daily habit.     Nancy K

I lead a pretty stress-free life, but this morning (after a family-filled weekend)
I was feeling quite stressed about some troublesome matters over which I have
no control, but was having trouble letting go of.   After an hour of
Sandy-led yoga in the lovely Retreat, I felt much better and I’m pretty sure my
BP was a good bit lower.

After trying several yoga teachers in the area over the past few years since my
move to NC, I’m SO very glad I found YOU!  You truly have a gift for
bringing yoga and mindfulness into the lives of those of us who are at, shall
we say, a “certain level of maturity”.
J  Most yoga teachers don’t
recognize that a couple of added decades brings a change in yoga needs.

And after putting ice on my swelling left knee, I am good to go once
more!  (again, different needs……….).

I really love your class, the way you tailor it to our creaky needs!

“Sandy’s Yoga Classes have done so much for improving my flexibility and changing my pain patterns. I wish I would have known about it throughout my Chiropractic Career.”   Dr. Brian  Lake Norman Area

Eight months ago I felt I needed something, I just didn't feel like I had energy. Today I try to make it to the mat twice a week. I have Increased my energy; my knee's don't hurt like last winter  when I do get a kink Sandy knows how to unlock those joints and stretch those muscles. If you’re on the edge get on the mat, watch yourself unfold. Adele

I like holding some poses longer and learning YIN Yoga, I also like going a little faster & challanging myself, I enjoy learning about props and using the wall, or stability ball, which translates -to you are a great teacher!! Bonus for us students as they say, "you are only as good as your leader". Thanks for the "partner" Yoga and always being inovative and keeping me engaged.  I can honestly say Yoga has made my running more effective, I am more competitive and I am injury free.

When I started coming to yoga, I was a mom needing some DOWN time. It made me feel relaxed, calm and revived. As a business owner and mom, I needed some time away to think of NOTHING. Within a few weeks I was addicted. Addicted to feeling good! I couldn’t wait for Wednesday nights so I could do yoga. You are a great teacher; I never feel confused about the movements or wonder how to do something, because you always explain very well! I love the inspiration you give to each of us. “Everyone’s body is different, some can stretch farther at one movement and someone else might stretch farther on a different movement.” “This isn’t a competition, listen to your body.” I use the breathing during everyday life. It is a wonderful tool!

Through our weekly sessions, I have found that it is my sanctuary from daily life. I come to clear my mind, work through the poses (getting better and stronger each time), try new things and challenge myself. I have found that I can do much more than I had originally thought.

I absolutely love it and can’t wait to come each and every week.
